mentorship program 

        One of Fundacion Cielo's main ongoing projects is the Mentorship Program. This year we have been working with several of the community's top high school students in hopes that they will be able to attend a university through a variety of scholarships. The Mentorship program focuses on matching high school students with college students to help prepare and motivate them to attend university. Our goal is to enable 5 students to attend University. Our program allows for these students to attend a college fair, learn about resources needed, and present opportunities for getting scholarships to help pay for university.

Ana Patricia Hau Hau

I am Ana Patricia and I’m 21 years old. I’m senior in high school and my GPA is 92/100. 
I want to study a degree in Rehabilitation for disabled people. I would like to help children who don't have money to take rehab and help them improve their life style. Also, I would like to continue with my studies to help my parents and thank them for the effort that they have done for me to have a decent future.
The biggest obstacle to continue my studies is that I don't have the necessary economic resources to pay my way through college.
Jose Ismael Ake Coamal

I am Jose Ismael and I’m 19 years old. I live in Teabo, Yucatan and I’m senior in high school. My GPA is 90.9/100. I want to study Education to become an Elementary School Teacher. I have always liked teaching, helping others with difficult subjects and I feel people understand me easily. 
I want to be a better person and more prepared for the future.
The biggest obstacle for me to continue to pursue my studies is my family economic situation.
Rita Maria Perez Torres

I am Rita and  I’m 18 years old. I live in Mani, Yucatan and I’m senior in high school. My GPA is 92.7/100. I want to study an undergrad degree in Accounting because ever since my childhood I have liked the way that companies are managed. I have always loved math and I’m good at it. I would like to continue studying to help my family economically.
The main reason why I can’t continue with my studies is my economic situation. My dad is a construction worker and does not always have work. He has to pay the studies of my little sister too. My mom died and now I take care of her and my house.
Filiberto Moo Palomo

I am Jose Filiberto and I’m 18 years old. I live in Teabo, Yucatan and I’m senior in high school, my GPA is 95.8/100. I want to study Medicine because I would like to bring wellness to everyone who needs help to cure diseases that are in my community. Doctors can save lives and prevent diseases.
The biggest obstacle to continue my education is because we don't have the necessary economic resources. Medicine is one of the most expensive programs and my parents need to pay for the education of my little brothers. 
Evelyn Eunice Cahuich Can
 
I am Evelyn and I’m 17 years old. I live in Teabo, Yucatan and I’m senior in high school. My GPA is 95/100. I want to study Gastronomy because I like cooking and it is easy to get a job in my region with a career like this. Also, the traditional meals of my state have been disappearing and I would like to give continuity to our traditions.
Unfortunately, I can’t continue with my studies because my family doesn't have enough money to pay for both my degree and the schooling of my younger siblings.  
Dayla Abigal Cahuich Poot
 
I am Dayla and I’m 18 years old. I live in Teabo, Yucatan and I’m senior in high school. My GPA is 98/100. I want to study Medicine because it is a career in which I can help people who need it. I would like to cure people who live in my community. I would like to save lives and study the diseases that affect my community.
The reason why I couldn't continue studying is because the career is expensive and my parents don't have enough money to pay for it.
Lidy Lorena Mis Canul


I am Lidy Lorena  and I’m 17 years old. I live in Teabo, Yucatan and I’m senior in high school. My GPA is 98/100. 
I want to study Accounting, because I like math, and I think that is an interesting career and has many areas of work. I would like to study this career to support my parents economically and help my siblings.
The biggest obstacle I have to continue with my studies is that my family doesn't have enough economic resources. My father is a farmer and sometimes works as a construction worker but he does not always have work.
